Interested in finding out more about how being with nature and in nature can support you? These ‘5 Pathways to Nature Connection’ sessions are informed by, and deeply rooted in, the science & research into the benefits to human physical health and mental wellbeing of connecting to nature in a meaningful sense.
Thursday mornings 10am-12:30pm, from 10th December until 21st January (excluding Christmas Eve). To get the most from them, you are encouraged to come every week, however this will be run as an open group and anyone can attend any session/sessions that they wish to/are able to. You are welcome to join part way through! Not sure about coming by yourself? Bring a friend . To ensure we stay within safe Covid guidelines there will be a maximum of five participants for these sessions. Please bring your own snack and drink.
10.12.20 – CONTACT: relax & restore through senses connection; connect to others in the group; notice nature around you
17.12.20 – BEAUTY: be inspired through engagement with natural beauty; listen to others’ stories; appreciate the beauty of the natural environment
(24.12.20 no session- break for Christmas)
31.12.20 – EMOTION: normalise emotions & develop emotional awareness; share ideas on feelings & see how group sharing supports this; take notice of how the natural world supports and changes our mood
07.01.21 – COMPASSION: get a sense of the compassion of nature- holding us and supporting us; share ideas on compassion; feeling how nature supports us & how we can support it
14.01.21 – MEANING: see how nature mirrors and reflects meaning to us; explore with others how meaning emerges in our nature connection; how nature can bring change, meaning and purpose to our health and wellbeing experience
21.01.21 – INTEGRATION: how to bring the learning, experience and practices of the 5 Pathways further into your life; celebrate how much we have supported each other and learnt from each other; how can we continue to advance our nature-connectedness, and our love of & care of nature?
I have been connecting people to nature for many years, as an experienced outdoor educator, Forest School Leader and Ecopsychology Facilitator. I am currently studying Level 4 Ecopsychology & Nature Connection, and these sessions stem from this training.
Booking details: I understand that many of us are experiencing financial difficulties during these Covid times. I consider this work important, so have decided to offer a sliding scale of payment: £8/£12/£16/£20. Prices are per 2.5hr session. Holy Brook Meadows is a Community Interest Company run as ‘a haven for all beings’, and a donation to support their work is automatically given from your payment. The land comprises two fields divided by the Holy Brook. It is bordered by ancient woodland and is a short walk away from the river Dart.
